Cisco needs help

Meet baby Cisco, Henry’s Hope Foundation’s “Street Dog” as he was once referred to.

He was found by a kind man named Francisco in East LA. (Hence his name Cisco!) He was limping and homeless. Both right front and rear legs were torn to pieces and infected with maggots and necrotic skin. The pup was lethargic and Francisco rushed him to a vet clinic near downtown LA. The quote was huge and sadly nobody could afford to pay the bill.
We heard from our rescue sister Sydney Meller that there was a puppy in need of help.
The next morning Barbie Icaza went to the clinic to visit him and we decided it was best to bring him to our private vet at Center Sinai Animal Hospital. I met her here and Dr. Baum started treatment. He’s estimated at 8-10 weeks of age.
Cisco is being such a good patient. Everyone has been so kind and helpful.
Huge areas of his skin are missing and what’s left was decayed and he was septic. He has huge holes in his inner thigh and front arm.
The plan is multiple antibiotic therapy as well as wound care. When the infected dead tissue sloughs off and the infection is gone Dr. B will attempt to reconstruct and close the wounds and do extensive skin grafting.
Problem is there is so much necrosis and a large percentage of his skin is missing.
He’s getting daily medicine soaks with the techs at Center Sinai for his dead skin and being wrapped in casts.
He has had many ups and downs so far but we are hopeful and pray he’s going to survive and grow into a healthy happy scruffy boy some day.
For now he’s getting excellent care and has a lot of fans!
We are in desperate need of donations to cover the cost of Cisco’s care and upcoming surgeries.
